Types of NGO
NGOs can be categorized into two groups: Operational and advocacy NGOs. In his work field, he has to approach efficiently to solve particular problem. They can follow some guidelines to execute their work successfully. Fist of all they have to gather information on the issue. They must find out exact cause of the problem and observe who are responsible. They must analyze the consequences going to be and assess extent, quality and occurrence. Then they can assess what are the alternatives/possible solutions available to solve problems and check how much would they cost. They must talk to different people in the community to collect different views that will facilitate a holistic view of the issue. It is always better to approach people who are responsible and hear their side of the issue and inform them the seriousness of problems that NGO workers observe. Professional’s major job is to join with people to augment consciousness. Workers must in touch with elderly, influential or respected people in the community to address public gatherings. Professionals may involve the media (newspapers and the internet) to create interest, converse the facts and talk about alternatives. They may also publish gracious, brief articles in magazines and newspapers to address the issues. To collect funds, workers must communicate people in effectual way the purpose of fundraising and it will be used in resolving community problems.
